Hudson Square Storyline by Jenny Goldstick is our new iteration of Walk to the Water, an art installation and wayfinding guide directing people from the neighborhood to the waterfront. This iteration is a portrait of Hudson Square built from the stories of its community. Over months, we listened to more than 100 plus stories across Hudson Square, from street corners and plazas to local bars. Through these stories, we identified the common threads that connect people: the moments that changed them, the lessons they’ve learned, and the character roles that define the spirit of the neighborhood. These threads became the inspiration for artworks that transform story data into illustration. Together, they capture the neighborhood’s creative and collaborative energy while reflecting the people who live and work here.
These spheres trace a path through the neighborhood and lead you toward the waterfront. Along the way, you walk not just through streets, but through this living portrait of Hudson Square.
