Request for Proposals: Little Sixth Plaza Mural
The Hudson Square BID is seeking proposals from NYC-based artists to design and install a large-scale asphalt mural at Little Sixth Plaza, a new pedestrian space on Little 6th Avenue between Spring and Dominick Streets.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The selected artist will transform the entire 6,000-square-foot plaza surface into a vibrant, site-responsive mural. The project will include community volunteer painting days, led and coordinated by the artist, to foster connection and long-term care for the space.

Artist Budget: Up to $33,000 (inclusive of design, labor, and materials)

Submission Deadline: Friday, February 20, 2026

Installation Period: Mid–late May 2026 (pending NYCDOT approval and weather)
Located next to Spring Street Park, Little Sixth Plaza will serve as an expanded and welcoming gateway into Hudson Square. The mural will be a defining feature of this new public space.
