Gold opened the venue with the purpose of exposing the musical wealth and heritage of the Afro-Latino Diaspora to as many people as possible. True to its mission, it has become renowned as the premiere venue not only for World Music, but all genres, in New York City and the world over. Louis Yoh designed the interior which features a couple of very old walls, school house chairs, a zinc bar and tables made from reclaimed bowling alley maple. The Food We make the food that we want to eat. On any given night the menu features favorites such as a hamburger, roast chicken or seasonal vegetables alongside dishes like pickled bluefish or goat sausage. The Drink We keep it simple at the bar. Our concise cocktail list has classics, and riffs on them. For the beer drinkers, we’ve got a seasonal selection of bottles and cans as well as a kolsch from Cologne on tap.
